INTENSIVE THERAPY IN AGOURA HILLS & ACROSS CA

Focused work personalized to you. Real change, faster.

You don’t want incremental change over months or years.

You need radical change—and you need it yesterday.

You’ve likely already tried to wait this out, talk it through in weekly therapy, or manage it as best you can…but it hasn’t been enough. What you’re dealing with feels too all-consuming or disruptive to keep tiptoeing around. You’re overwhelmed to the point where functioning feels like a daily negotiation, and you know you can’t keep living like this.

When something is taking up this much of your energy, weekly 50-minute increments can’t even begin to scratch the surface. Intensives provide the space, structure, and support to go deeper and get unstuck in a single day or week.

INTENSIVE THERAPY MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU…

  • Feel like anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or trauma have taken over your life and are desperate for meaningful relief.

  • Have already tried weekly therapy and are frustrated by having to rush, wrap things up mid-process, or hold back because the clock is ticking.

  • Have a specific issue, traumatic event, memory, or belief that feels urgent to address now, rather than over an extended period of time.

  • Are facing a drastic change—like becoming a parent, a divorce or separation, or a medical procedure or illness—that has brought up things from your past you’d like to process.

  • Can’t commit to ongoing therapy but are willing to go all-in for a concentrated period of time.

  • Know you need something different, more immersive, and more focused than what you’ve tried before.

HOW IT WORKS

A CLEAR, COLLABORATIVE PROCESS TO HELP YOU FEEL BETTER, SOONER.

  • We offer intensives at our office in Agoura Hills, where we’ll be able to work one-on-one without distraction, technical difficulties, or the interruptions and time constraints of a typical weekly session.

Because this work is immersive by design, we set aside extended blocks of time for the actual intensive sessions, which are customizable based on what works for you. That could look like 2-3 hours on a single day, multiple 2-3 hour days in a row, or longer days, depending on the issue we’re working on and the scope of the work.

  • Before any intensive work happens, we first meet for intake and preparation sessions. Together, we’ll clarify what’s feeling most urgent, identify the core issue or belief we’ll be targeting, and determine what method—usually EMDR, Brainspotting, or Psychedelic-Assisted therapy—is the best fit. We’ll also make sure you feel supported and ready to engage ahead of your intensive.

  • On the day or days of your intensive, we’ll work for several hours at a time using EMDR or Brainspotting to help lessen the emotional charge around traumatic experiences or long-standing patterns.

Your therapist will guide you through the process one step at a time and check in often to ensure we’re moving at an appropriate pace for you. You’ll be able to take breaks for water, snacks, and rest as needed to get the most out of your intensive experience.

  • In this post-intensive session, you and your therapist will check in, process what happened during your intensive, and talk through any changes you’re noticing after the fact. Intensives are a powerful experience, and can truly be transformative. This part of the process gives us the chance to make that transformation stick.

With focused time for in-depth work, the dramatic difference you’re looking for isn’t out of reach.

Through intensive therapy, you may…

  • Feel free from a specific traumatic event or negative core belief in a day or week

  • Experience more confidence, less shame, and a greater sense of choice in your life

  • Show up differently in your relationships, from a more grounded perspective

  • Get unstuck and feel more able to move toward your goals

  • Understand in a real, felt way that you are not what happened to you

you’re not alone.

IT’S TIME TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Questions?

FAQs

  • Intensives are often a good fit for people who have tried therapy before and still feel stuck, overwhelmed, or desperate for meaningful change. They also work well for people who don’t want ongoing weekly therapy or who want to supplement work they’re already doing with another therapist.

  • If someone is feeling extremely fragile or doesn’t yet have enough support or coping skills to stay grounded during longer sessions, an intensive may not be the right first step. In those cases, we often recommend building more stability first through some weekly sessions. We’ll talk through options before moving forward to help you decide what’s right for you.

  • Intensives are customized. Some are 2–3 hours in a single day, while others span longer days or multiple days in a row. It all depends on the scope of what you’re working on and what kind of pace feels manageable. All intensives take place in person at our Agoura Hills office, with breaks built in as needed.

  • Before getting into the intensive session(s), we start with intake and preparation sessions to clarify what we’re focusing on and make sure you’re ready. The intensive itself may use EMDR or another evidence–based method like Brainspotting to work through traumatic experiences or deeply held beliefs. Then, you’ll meet with your therapist again afterward to help you bring the work you did into your everyday life.

  • Yes, in some cases. Our therapists can work in a limited, collaborative way with outside therapists when intensives are used as an adjunct to ongoing therapy. This is something we can discuss during your consultation.
